ISI-Esri-Competition-FINALEsri and ISI have partnered together to host the first ISI & Esri Student Poster Competition 2019. The contest challenged university students from all over the world to research topics related to the use of GIS in statistics. The contest was designed to foster the development of geospatial methods and analysis in university statistics programs by promoting research into topics related to this integration and use of GIS in statistics, including spatial statistics, regression modeling, spatial data management, mapping, visualization and analysis. Students were also encouraged to explore spatial thinking that involves identifying, analyzing, and understanding the location, scale, patterns, and trends of the geographic and temporal relationships among data. Their findings were then instructed to be visually displayed onto one-page posters for final judging. Out of 47 total submissions, 15 finalists were selected for judging by a team of industry experts from Esri and ISI.
